Short Description: Configure automatic credit purchases when your balance drops below a threshold. Set your trigger point, top-up amount, and payment method to ensure uninterrupted enrichment services.
Auto Top Up automatically purchases credits when your balance drops below a threshold you set. This ensures uninterrupted access to enrichment services without manual monitoring or unexpected service interruptions.
Auto Top Up is a three-step automated process:
Your credit balance falls below your configured threshold (e.g., 1,000 credits remaining).
LeadMagic automatically purchases your selected credit amount using your designated payment method.
Your account balance is instantly topped up with the purchased credits, and you receive a receipt via email.
Example:
Threshold set: 1,000 credits
Top-up amount: 5,000 credits
What happens: When your balance hits 1,000 or below, we automatically add 5,000 credits and charge your payment method

Calculate your daily usage:
Check your usage over the past 30 days
Divide by 30 to get daily average
Multiply by 7 to estimate weekly usage
Example calculation:
Past 30 days: Used 15,000 credits
Daily average: 500 credits/day
Weekly estimate: 3,500 credits/week
Recommended setup for this example:
Threshold: 5,000 credits (10 days buffer)
Top-up amount: 10,000 credits (20 days supply)
Steady Predictable Usage:
Set threshold at 1-2 weeks of usage
Set top-up amount at 2-3 weeks of usage
This minimizes transaction frequency
Spiky Unpredictable Usage:
Set higher threshold (more buffer)
Set larger top-up amount
Prevents multiple top-ups during usage spikes
Budget-Conscious:
Set lower threshold (1,000-2,000)
Set smaller top-up amount (5,000)
More frequent charges but smaller amounts
Mission-Critical Operations:
Set high threshold (10,000-20,000)
Set large top-up amount (50,000-100,000)
Never risk running out mid-operation
You can change your Auto Top Up configuration at any time:
Go to Settings > Billing > Auto Top Up
Locate Auto Top Up section
Adjust threshold, amount, or payment method
Click "Save" to update
Changes take effect immediately for future top-ups.
If you need to pause automatic purchases:
Go to Settings > Billing
Toggle Auto Top Up to OFF
Your credits remain, but no automatic purchases will occur
Important: Remember to re-enable before your balance gets too low.
Track your automatic top-ups:
Go to Settings > Billing > Credit History:
Or click here: https://app.leadmagic.io/settings/credits-history
Exact moment: When your credit balance drops to or below your threshold, the charge processes immediately.
Example scenarios:
Scenario 1: Gradual Decline
Threshold: 1,000 credits
Your balance: 1,005 credits
You use: 10 credits for an enrichment
Balance now: 995 credits
Result: Auto Top Up triggers instantly
Scenario 2: Large Bulk Usage
Threshold: 5,000 credits
Your balance: 6,000 credits
You upload CSV: Uses 3,000 credits
Balance now: 3,000 credits
Result: Auto Top Up triggers instantly
Standard pricing applies:
Credits purchased via Auto Top Up use the same per-credit rate as manual purchases
No additional fees for automatic processing
Volume discounts may apply based on top-up amount
Check your preview: The configuration screen always shows the exact charge amount before you save.
Valid payment method required:
Credit card must be valid and not expired
Sufficient credit limit available
Card must not be blocked or restricted
Failed payment: If Auto Top Up cannot charge your payment method:
You'll receive an email notification
The top-up attempt fails
Your credits continue declining
Service may be interrupted if balance reaches zero
Action required: Update your payment method immediately.
Too low (under 1 week of usage):
Risk of running out before top-up processes
Service interruptions during high-usage periods
Stress during critical operations
Too high (over 4 weeks of usage):
Unnecessary cash outlay
Credits sitting unused
More frequent top-ups than needed
Just right (1-2 weeks of usage):
Comfortable buffer
Balances convenience and efficiency
Minimizes transaction frequency
Check monthly:
Are you topping up too frequently? Increase top-up amount
Are top-ups infrequent? You might not need Auto Top Up
Has usage changed? Adjust configuration accordingly
Update before expiration:
Set calendar reminder 1 month before card expiry
Update payment method proactively
Test with small manual purchase after updating
Ensure you receive:
Top-up confirmation emails
Payment method issues
Balance warnings
Transaction receipts
If your usage varies seasonally:
Increase threshold before high-usage periods
Decrease threshold during slow periods
Or temporarily disable during extended low-usage periods
Check these:
Is Auto Top Up enabled?
Go to Settings > Billing > Auto Top Up
Verify toggle is ON
Did you actually hit the threshold?
Check current balance
Verify it's at or below your threshold
Is your payment method valid?
Check card expiration date
Verify billing address matches
Did you recently change settings?
Changes may take a few minutes to activate
Try refreshing the page
What happens:
You receive email notification of failed payment
Auto Top Up attempt is logged but incomplete
Your credit balance remains at triggering level
No credits are added until payment succeeds
How to fix:
Update payment method at Settings > Billing
Verify new payment method is selected for Auto Top Up
Manually purchase credits to restore buffer
Auto Top Up will work for next trigger
This is rare but if it happens:
Wait 5-10 minutes (processing delay)
Refresh your account page
Check billing history for confirmation
If credits still missing after 30 minutes, contact support with:
Transaction ID or receipt
Date and time of charge
Amount charged
Current credit balance
Why this happens:
Scenario 1: Large bulk operation
You ran operation that used more credits than top-up amount
Balance immediately fell below threshold again
Second top-up triggered
Example:
Threshold: 5,000 credits
Top-up: 10,000 credits
Balance before: 6,000 credits
Bulk operation uses: 14,000 credits
After operation: -8,000 credits (first top-up) = 2,000 credits
Still below threshold → second top-up triggers
Prevention:
Set larger top-up amounts for bulk operations
Temporarily increase threshold before large operations
Or disable Auto Top Up and manually purchase for bulk needs
Scenario 2: Rapid API usage
High-frequency API calls
Credits depleting quickly
Multiple top-ups in quick succession
Prevention:
Increase top-up amount significantly
Set higher threshold
Monitor API usage rates
Common causes:
Pending top-up in progress: Wait for it to complete
Browser cache issue: Clear cache or try different browser
Account permissions: Ensure you're the account owner or have billing permissions
Payment method verification: Some changes require payment verification
Your payment information is:
Stored securely with PCI-compliant payment processors
Never stored on LeadMagic servers
Tokenized for automatic processing
Protected by industry-standard encryption
You control maximum spend:
Auto Top Up only purchases the amount you configure
Cannot exceed your selected top-up amount per trigger
You set the threshold (minimum balance before triggering)
You can disable at any time
Spend limits:
Credit card limits still apply
Bank fraud detection still active
You can set lower top-up amounts for tighter control
You always know when charges occur:
Email receipt immediately upon charge
Transaction visible in billing history
Clear itemization of credits purchased
Amount charged shown clearly
Yes! Auto Top Up works alongside any subscription plan. Your subscription credits are separate from Auto Top Up purchases.
How it works together:
Subscription credits refresh monthly
Auto Top Up credits supplement when you run low
Both credit types function identically
Subscription credits typically used first
Yes. Auto Top Up credits roll over just like subscription credits.
Nothing changes immediately. Your existing credits remain. You simply won't have automatic top-ups when running low. You'll need to manually purchase credits when needed.
Not currently. Auto Top Up uses a single threshold setting. However, you can manually adjust your configuration as needed.
Auto Top Up is not available during trials.
Auto Top Up purchases follow our standard refund policy. See our refund policy article for details. Generally, unused credits may qualify for refund review.
No daily or monthly limit. Auto Top Up triggers whenever your balance hits the threshold, regardless of frequency.
Best practice: If triggering multiple times daily, increase your top-up amount.
Only account owners or users with billing permissions can configure Auto Top Up. This protects against unauthorized charges.
Before expiration:
You'll receive email reminders
Update payment method proactively
Test new payment method
After expiration:
Auto Top Up attempts will fail
You'll be notified of failures
Update payment method to restore functionality
No. The per-credit rate is more for auto top ups than more subscriptions. For lower pricing, upgrade your plan.
